Student Awards

Pi Sigma Alpha National Honor Society

Membership is open to:

Junior or Senior Political Science Majors or Minors that have completed at least 3 Political Science courses including at least one upper-division course with a 3.0 Political Science GPA, however, Pols 156 does not count.  Their overall GPA must place them in the top 1/3 of their class (junior or senior class).

Provided that no student will be elected to Pi Sigma Alpha who has been found guilty of any act of academic dishonesty.

Richard Watson Bunch Scholarship Fund

Established in 1983 by Mrs. Richard W. Bunch (Eugenia) in honor of her husband, a DePauw graduate of 1929 who had a distinguished career in the United States government.  A credit toward tuition is awarded to an outstanding junior major. This award is given annually to the outstanding junior(s) studying political science at DePauw.  The names of winners are engraved annually on the Bunch award plaque housed in the departmental office. 

Stephen Charles Sellett Memorial Award

Established in 1971 by Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Sellett in honor of their son, Stephen Charles Sellett, a DePauw graduate who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1970. A cash award is given to an outstanding senior major.  This award is given annually to the outstanding senior Political Science major(s).  The names of winners are engraved annually on the Sellett award plaque in the departmental office.
