Faculty Instructional Technology Support

FITS assists faculty members in enhancing their teaching and their students' learning through the latest tools with an emphasis on the pedagogical applications of technology rather than with explicit technical training. We provide consultations to help you leverage these technologies to design effective assignments, class projects and assessments for your courses.

The FITS office is located on the 2nd floor of Roy O West Library, in Suite 201. FITS offers a variety of options for faculty consultations.

Our staff are available for consultations by-appointment. Drop us a note at fits@depauw.edu to arrange an appointment to meet either face-to-face on-campus or virtually on Zoom.

During normal business hours, members of the FITS staff are regularly monitoring our email. Outside of our normal office hours, we will review your request and respond appropriately.

Our Mission

Faculty Instructional Technology Support collaborates with faculty, students, and staff exploring ways that instructional and information technology can encourage and sustain learner-centered pedagogies that support the University's mission. We recognize the importance of dialogue and partnership in technology's integration in teaching and learning.  We support this philosophy through consulting and informing; facilitating and leading workshops and training; supporting and managing projects; researching and evaluating new technologies, their efficacy, and creative use; participating in the intellectual community; and cultivating professional development.
