Douglas and Mary Hallward-Driemeier Fund for the Honor Scholar Program Application

All requests for funding must be submitted in writing using this form. Requests must include:

1. A title and an abstract or brief summary of the project (300 words or less)

2. A description (maximum 3 double-spaced pages) of the project that describes the purpose and procedures. Students should also include a description of the role that your faculty partner/sponsor will play in this project, and how he or she will support your project.

3. A description (200 words or less) of how the project is consistent with the integrative, interdisciplinary vision of the Honor Scholar Program, and the vision for the Hallward-Driemeier Fund, as described above.

4. A budget for the proposed work that outlines:
4A. The total amount of funding requested
4B. Itemized account of how money will be spent

(Note that if the budget includes items linked to travel, meal costs cannot exceed the university maximum per
diem amount—currently $51 per day)

5. A description of the approximate timeline of the project, and the timing of spending the requested funds

6. An endorsement of the project by a DePauw faculty member, administrator, or appropriate staff member

7. A description of any long-term or broader benefits to the DePauw community (e.g., multi-use benefits, broader educational benefits, etc.)

8. An agreement to provide a brief (1 paragraph) description of what they accomplished based on the award within 12 months of receiving funding

9. A brief description of any previous awards from this fund, and the amounts awarded
